Though officially founded in 2008, the company's roots trace back to 1999, when freerider and product designer Holger Feist suffered a back injury due to an avalanche accident in Austria. This incident sparked the concept for a backpack equipped with a back protector. After many years spent cycling and skiing globally, Holger realised significant ergonomic improvements could be made to backpacks and bike packs.
