In this category, you will find a comprehensive range of rollerski wheels and fenders. The first thing to consider when purchasing rollerski wheels is the style. For rollerskis, there are two styles.
- Classic style where you move your legs in a parallel motion
- Skate style where you move your legs similar to inline skating, positioning your feet in a fishbone pattern
Classic style rollerski wheels are wide and designed for rolling in the middle of the wheel. Skate wheels are narrower and designed to provide a smoother transition from edge to edge.
You Need Different Rollerski Wheels in the Front and Back
You will only need two wheels for each rollerski. This setup perfectly mimics the feel of regular cross-country skis.
While the rear wheel spins in only one direction, the front wheel moves in both directions. This allows you to move forward and closely replicate the experience of cross-country skiing.
Wheel Hardness and the Terrain
When purchasing rollerski wheels, it’s also important to consider the type of terrain you wish to ride on. If you plan to ride on gravel paths, the wheels for your rollerskis should be soft. This will provide a more comfortable ride and better grip. Conversely, if you plan to ride solely on asphalt, you can opt for harder rollerski wheels. A harder wheel will create less friction on the asphalt surface, saving you energy in the long run.
