Snowboarding is a highly popular winter sport among children, often enjoyed as an alternative to skiing. Children can easily progress on junior snowboards, provided the snowboard is of the correct length and width. Some kids love the thrill of speeding down slopes, while others simply enjoy the freedom of exploring the slopes at their own pace.
The essential gear needed for children snowboarding includes a kids snowboard, kids snowboard boots, and kids snowboard bindings. These can be purchased as a package or individually. Opting for our kids’ snowboard package is often the most cost-effective option. To dress your child appropriately for snowboarding, check out our Ski Socks, Snow Gloves, Snow Trousers, Ski Jackets, and Midlayers.
When Can My Child Learn to Snowboard?
Parents often wonder at what age their children can start learning to snowboard. The smallest youth snowboards are designed for 3-year-old children. This is typically the age when they have developed sufficient motor skills to begin learning the basics. Most kids’ snowboard schools accept 3-year-olds as their youngest students.
What Size Snowboard Does My Child Need?
The size of the snowboard for your child should primarily be determined by their height. The general guideline is that the board length should fall between your child's chest and nose height. Closer to their chest if they are beginners, and closer to their nose if they are advanced. 80 cm snowboards are among the smallest available and are suitable for 3-year-old children (around 95 cm tall).
