The Alienation Venus Planetary Freecoaster/Cassette is a hub featuring the innovative Planetary technology. It produces a crisp sound and engages instantaneously, yet does not obstruct the wheel when pedalling backwards. Indeed, Planetary hubs unite the most admired characteristics of cassettes and freecoasters into a singular hub. With this hub, you can build an exceptionally robust wheel with 36 spokes. Hubs with male axles like this are secured to the dropouts using a nut.
- Ensure that your pegs will accommodate the 14mm axle diameter of this Alienation hub.
- Hub guards are provided to support your grinds and prolong the lifespan of your hub.
The Alienation Venus Planetary hub functions as a freecoaster, but feels and sounds akin to a cassette hub. It incorporates a Planetary Clutch system that significantly reduces slack. The hub axle is crafted from hollow, heat-treated 4140 Chromoly, while the shell consists of 6061-T6 alloy. This composition makes it approximately 30% lighter than traditional freecoaster hubs without compromising strength or performance.
