Used indoors for rollerdancing, they keep the cuff free and protect the palm when you fall. The Velcro seems a bit fragile to me, but you just have to adjust them to the right size and you can put them on just by putting them on without touching them. Not a lot of impact protection, but they do convert impact to sliding and my hands don't overheating like normal wrist guards. Not my first pair. After a year of heavy use, the velcro is toast (was never very sticky, TBH) but it's an easy solve by stitching the straps closed at the right size and sticking the the plastic slides on permanently with washable glue.
