Onyx Core 5mm Frontzip 2018 Wetsuit

The Ion Onyx Core Semidry wetsuit, featuring a chest zip and a thickness of 5/4mm, serves as an ideal all-around choice for watersports such as kitesurfing, surfing, wakeboarding, windsurfing, and SUP (Stand Up Paddling). It offers excellent manoeuvrability, especially in the arms and legs where major movement is required. In addition to maintaining warmth in cold waters, it also provides protection against the chill of the wind.

The wetsuit incorporates Ion's Hot Stuff lining on the inside of the chest, ensuring comfort.

The knee region is given additional protection with Supra Tex nylon, which is a highly abrasion-resistant fabric, enhancing the suit’s durability and optimising protection against wear. The wetsuit also offers increased comfort and flexibility by having its collar, wrists, knees, and elbows contoured to fit the body's natural shape. A key pocket is located on the inside of the chest.

Ion's general guide (variability exists from person to person) suggests that this wetsuit is fitting for temperatures as low as 32° degrees Fahrenheit to 48° degrees Fahrenheit.

Features:

• Aqua-A

Aqua-A is a solvent-free, water-based adhesive used in all Ion wetsuits.

• Seam reinforcements

For increased durability at stress points within the wetsuit, Ion has reinforced them with Melco tape. Ion advises: “If you inadvertently leave the suit in the boot of your car on a hot day, they may begin to peel. Stay calm! Use an iron gently over the affected area since the adhesive is heat-activated.”

• Contour Cut

These wetsuits follow the body's natural contours, enhancing flexibility and comfort. All Ion wetsuits come with a contour cut.

• Drain Holes

To prevent water build-up where fabrics overlap, drain holes are included. These holes do not stretch.

• Internal Key Pocket

Within the wetsuit, there is a key pocket that is water-resistant.

• GBS - Glued Blind Stitched

To ensure excellent water resistance, neoprene panels are bonded by glueing alongside blind stitching, seamlessly attaching the panels together.

• Supra Tex

This fabric is applied in more exposed sections of the wetsuit, like the knee areas. Supra Tex fabric offers greater resistance to abrasion.
